I wrote a post,
but it got deleted.
The elevators are going to be spheres.
Diameter of 3.5 m, with 15 cm walls, so an interior space of 3.2 m.
I am also contemplating something in the centre of the pillar.
Like a huge elevator.
Massive.
Daunting.
With multiple entrances.
And exits.

The circumference of the interior is 10 m.
Average person is (insert width), so the thing could hold anywhere from 10-18 people?
That would make the counterweight... 1600 lbs-ish.
40% of max weight, is person is 200 lbs and there are 20 people capacity.
There would be anywhere from 15-20 elevators.
That gives a possibilty for ... 400 people to move at once.
Max, it'll end up being less.

Glass up and down the path, glass ball, so you can see.
Cables, I discussed other methods with peers, such as a corkscrew option, but to no practical avail.
